Stallion Focus- Lupicor - 25/09/2007

Due to the success of his youngstock in the UK it was felt that the first stallion focus should be on Lupicor. Owned by Stal Horn, this is a stallion that has continually grown in demand due to his internationally acclaimed pedigree, his wonderful temperament and his fantastic fertility results.

Breeding
Lupicor’s sire Lux Z was one of the most successful stallions in international showjumping. With Jerry Smit, Lux Z participated in the 2000 Sydney Olympics and he won the Pulsar Crown competitions in Valkenswaard and Cannes. This brought Lux Z's total winnings to more than a million euro. His sire, Lord Calando (Lord), is just like the world-famous jumping stallion Carthago Z (Capitol I), bred out of Perra (Calando I). The Hanoverian stallion Lux Z was bred at Zangersheide Stud Farm out of the Holstein mare Apocalypte Z (Ahorn Z), a product of lineage 2543. This famous Holstein family was also responsible for the licensed stallions Lavallo, Lasino and Lone Star. Lupicor H is a product of the successful breeding line of the Schroembges family where he was bred out of 'keur' awarded Jourdette S, a daughter of the Westphalian showjumping horse progenitor Pilot. Jourdette S made a worthy career for herself in showjumping, competing at national and international levels. . In 2007 Jourdette S was placed 5th in the Dutch breeding indexes for showjumping mares. The same female line also produced the international showjumper El Padrino (Jasper) ridden by Hansueli Sprunger and the KWPN stallion Lester (LancerII).

Performance
Lupicor H was approved as a two year´s old stallion at the Westfalan studbook where he was available for breeding before returning to Stal de Wiemselbach at the end of 2001. This talented son of Lux Z competed very successfully in the Dutch stallion competitions, and after his convincing performances in 's-Hertogenbosch and Ermelo, he was also accepted by the KWPN. During the second half of 2003 Lupicor made his debut at the biggest international show jumping levels, successfully competing at shows in La Bagnaia, Münster and Frankfurt. Since then Lupicor has continued his international career competing at large meeting such as La Baule, Zwolle and Geesteren

Progeny
Lupicor, placed 5th in the German Breeding Indexes belongs to the best stallions in Europe. At the 2006 KWPN stallion approval Lupicor displayed a remarkable group of young stallions with great movements and superb jumping abilities, among them the KWPN stallion champion 2006 L’Esprit (Lupicor x Landgraf I). Lupicor's first offspring are already successful at various international show jumping levels. Some examples are; Lady Luna (Massimo Grossato), Levito (Lars Nieberg) and Lenardo (Gerd Könemann).

In 2007 Wizzard van de Silverhoeve, a stallion by Lupicor bred out of a Voltaire x Nimmerdor mare convincingly won the KWPN Hendrix competition for 4 years old horses in Sevenum, Holland. Lupicor offspring have also dominated the Youngster Tours world-wide. In St. Tropez (France) a daughter won the 7 year old Youngster competition. The Westphalia Lupicor mare Lara Joy II, ridden by Geoff Luckett (GBR), won the Welcome Youngster Class ,. And they ended the CSI-3* show with a victory in the Youngster Tour Final . Finally on the KWPN studbook Inspection in Beek, Holland the 3 year old mare Zianne (Lupicor x Haarlem x Dageraad), received the highest marks resulting in it being titled the best jumping mare receiving the ‘Ster’ Award.
